Brock and I attended family day at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy on Friday where Matt is going through his training. It was fun to get to see what his day looks like and where he spends his time, as well as getting to know some of the instructors. We only got to be with Matt for about 45 minutes during lunch. He had class the rest of the day.
Sitting on daddy's bed!
The flag lowering ceremony...Daddy is the leader of the group and gave their commands in the video below. Watch as the custodian ladies on work release from the prison leave to head to their pick up bus in the background.
One of the best parts of the day was seeing the FATS room (fire arms training system) they compared it to an X box on steroids play system. (only with a $60,000 price tag! ) This floor to ceiling video screen takes you through various scenarios and responds to your voice commands and actions with your tools. It was pretty neat to see it in action.
We listened to speakers on family life, gun safety in the home, gave us the run down on graduation, etc. It was definitely worthwhile!
