Rollin Dyer passed away on May 15th. Grandpa Rollin had gone into the hospital the previous week and Matt was able to visit him in intensive care on a two hour pass each evening from the academy.
Grandpa Rollin was such a special man and I am so glad that I was able to know him as well as I did. It would not have been the same to only hear the stories about him that everyone has to share.
He was so proud of his family and I know that Matt made him so proud. He could be found at all of the Glenwood wrestling tournaments cheering on Matt as well as the Rams.
I think it was so special that Brock, his first great grandchild, was born the weekend of the "Rollin Dyer Invitational" in Atlantic where he was the former vice principal and athletic director.
Matt was able to leave the academy to attend the visitation and the funeral services the following day before returning to the campus.
Grandpa, we will miss you so much! Your advice and words of wisdom were priceless and the love that we felt from you can not be expressed.
