On April 4th it was official and Matt was offered the position with Council Bluffs Police Dept. He had done the timed running/ sit ups/ push ups test ...coming in 2nd out of all of the testers and was also the oldest guy! We enjoyed a dinner with both of our families in Glenwood to celebrate! Way to go Matt, we are all so proud of you!
His last day of teaching was April 13th. Matt went to lunch with Brock on the Thurs. and Fri at school while he was spending the days getting things ready to leave for the academy.
He will spend his first week in Council Bluffs- with the swearing in ceremony on the 18th and they mainly do shooting at the range the rest of the week.
On Easter evening, Matt left for the academy in Johnston. He will be able to come home on the weekends but will be gone until graduation on Aug. 5th.
After dinner, Granny and Joe came over and Joe installed a new swing for Brock. Brock has missed his swingset so much and has been swinging every day since!
