In September some friends of ours gave us a beautiful lab puppy. Matt wanted a female and I wanted a yellow one and we lucky enough to get our top choice! Josie was born in Aug. in a litter of 7. There were 2 females-5 males-3 yellow-3 chocolate- and one black puppy.
Matt has wanted a hunting dog for a long time and has hopes that Josie will do good for him. As of now, she is our sweet puppy baby. And I do mean PUPPY but more on this later.
I would pretty much say Josie is house trained now, except for when she goes downstairs she does like to potty on the carpet! So, we have to keep a gate up at the top of our stairs to keep her from going down there. She does great upstairs with it however.
Brock has done a good job teaching her to "sit". She still needs to go to training class to learn some more though.
Josie and Clifford are best friends. They run, jump, play, and chew on each other all day. Clifford can even be found sleeping in Josie's crate at night.
Now, what I mentioned earlier about her being a puppy. Oh, how Josie likes to chew. A partial list of things she has eaten: Amber's new shoes, Brock's flip flops, Amber's flip flops, papers, two $5 bills, a $1 bill, a book, all of the feet and hands off of the barbies in the house, a USB cord, cell phone charger cord, fake snow tree skirt, McDonalds Astro Boy toy, two zippers on our coats, the sleeve of Brock's new jacket, two buttons off of my sweater, all of the buttons off of our duvet cover, a Christmas ornament from the tree, Clifford's collar, roll of scotch tape, roll of duck tape, pens, marker, crayon, two daycare kids shoes (seperate kids of course), my new glasses, two pillows, the blanket that covers her crate, our cordless phone, a container and the coffee beans inside it.... I guess that is all I can come up with right now ;)
All that being said... we sure do love having her here! She has beautiful green eyes and a zig zag down her lower back clear down her tail.
Every time someone sees her after a break they can't believe how much she has grown. Sometimes I swear she is part horse she is getting so big- and she has the poop to prove it!
